Cat Family studios - recording Session

How it works:

  • When possible, setup time comes at no charge; payment “begins” when recording begins. Expect longer setup times for larger arrangements that include several simultaneous instruments, and/or a drumkit. If there is a session booked directly after yours, setup time will be included in the block of time you pay for. You will be notified of this in advance whenever possible and may be asked to come in early for setup to ensure time is maximized.

  • Have your material prepared. If you are singing/rapping over a beat/instrumental, make sure to have the files available on a usb/hard drive. The same goes for any other material that you will need to record.

  • Mixing time is built into the session. Any time left over from recording will be used for mixing (if desired). If you are not satisfied with the mix and time’s up, you may purchase more hours on the spot (if the studio is booked directly after your session, you may have to schedule a different time to come in), or consider our flat-rate mixing service, found here.

    • Mixing is optional. If you do not wish to have your song/s mixed at Cat Family Studios, that’s a-ok! Just make sure to bring a portable hard drive/usb to collect the stems from your session. While export time is free, there may be a delay on receiving your files if the engineer is unavailable to stay after the session and needs to come back later.

Prorate policy: If your session ends earlier than scheduled, you will be charged half-price ($25) for the final hour if it goes under thirty minutes, and full-price ($50) if the final hour goes over thirty minutes.

Cancel/No-Show/Late Policy: If you cancel your session more than 24 hours in advance of the time you have booked, you will be refunded the entirety of your purchase. If you cancel within 24 hours of your session, we will keep one hour ($50) of your total booked session as a cancellation fee, and refund you the rest of your purchase. If you do not show up for your session, there will be no refund. If you are 10 minutes late (or less), there will be no penalty. If you are over 10 minutes late, payment will “begin” at the start of the time your session is booked, and you will not be refunded for time elapsed before you arrive.
